You know what…I really fucking hate you, you vain selfish bitch.

Director - Tarsem Singh
Writers - Charley Parlapanides and Vlas Parlapanides
Cast - Hanry Cavill (Theseus)
         Micky Rourke (King Hyperion)
         Freida Pinto (Phaedra)
         Luke Evans (Zeus)
         Isabel Lucas (Athena)
         Kellan Lutz (Poseidon)
It’s your typical good vs. evil film - Tyrant King Hyperion seeking ultimate power and destruction whilst in that pursuit leaving a bloody trail of death and carnage. Naturally the hero of the story Theaeus is to save the world from the terror Hyperion wishes to unleash, however his motives are that of revenge before he discovers himself and his destiny.
I personally enjoyed this movie-and not just because it stars the godly Henry Cavill. It’s fast past, yet easy to follow. The colours are bold and glamorize the characters making them stand out against the dark earthy set-Which I loved! One of the first times I have seen a movie based in Ancient Greece portray the housing correctly, aside from the villages location. Not quite sure that all Greek people would have chosen to live in such a location.
Aside from the hunk that almost in every scene is topless for the ladies, there are battles and gore that will even make the men cringe. Would you expect anything but from the directors of 300?
What I found to be interesting was that instead of using mythical creatures that Greek tails are so famous for they have portrayed them as human characters, so it’s slightly more realistic – aside from the actual Gods and Tightens – and later on when Theaeus becomes a legend his heroics becomes one of those stories. Kind of makes me think…

Director - Bennett Miller
Writers - Steven Zaillian (screenplay), Aaron Sorkin (screenplay)
Cast - Brad Pitt (Billy Beane)
         Jonah Hill (Peter Brand)
         Philip Seymour Hoffman (Art Howe)

Now this movie greatly intrigued me. The opening scene immediately got my attention -being an art student- I was captivated by the colours and the way the camera shots where directed.
I knew it was about Baseball however I did not realize the angle the movie approached it. With these types of movies we expect to see the game, connect deeply with the players as they strive to win time and time again and applaud them for their success. In this film we see this, yet it’s from Billy Beane’s role within the Baseball world that we follow. How with little funds he tries to form a team that will change the league forever.
It’s quite unusual to see the politics with in a game. Sure I knew that that’s what goes on but I was fascinated all the same as the movie took on an almost documentary type approach, showing his fails and trumps within his career. The movie is about his life so there is no fairytale ending that most movies have.
If you like the unordinary and wish to see something a little different this is the movie for you.

Director - Ben Palmer
Writers - Iain Morris, Damon Beesley
Cast – Simon Bird (Will Mackenzie)
          James Buckley (Jay Cartwright)
          Blake Harrison (Neil Sutherland)
          Joe Thomas (Simon Cooper)

Now before you see this movie I highly recommend that you first see the television series. They aren’t long so you can easily get through them in a day. The reason why I ask this of you is because without previously seeing the series the connections between the characters, jokes and motives wouldn’t be enjoyed to their fullest. Its three series of history lost!
Alright, now the movie was like a movie length episode so if you don’t like the series I guarantee that you won’t like this. It’s crudeness and there pursuit for sex is carried on as they go to schoolies in Greece, Malia where they, as per usual, seem to fuck things up.
I know it appears very much for men as it’s based on four horney British18 year olds, yet there is enough romantic interest and comedy to keep the females eyes glued. I personally love it for everything. The terrible language, nudeness, projectile vomiting-hell it’s just vulgar-and how they always follow thire penis and somehow eventualy fall for a girl.
